May 31, 2016

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd, represented in Jamaica by exclusive agents, Carib Star Shipping Ltd, recently hosted a Customer Appreciation Breakfast at the Courtleigh Hotel and Suites in New Kingston. The agency also used the occasion to launch the line’s new Guyana Suriname Express (GSE) service, as well as the new ZIM App. The GSE service offers direct, weekly sailing to and from Guyana, Suriname and Jamaica with quick, efficient transit times and reliability.

Keeping pace with modern technology while trying to better serve its clients’ needs, ZIM created the app to help customers track their shipments and check transit times for any of the numerous trade lanes it serves across the globe.

Customers can now keep their fingers on the pulse of their shipments anywhere in the world by accessing quick, reliable information from their mobile devices, laptops or personal computers at any time. This embodies the shipping line’s motto – ZIM Anytime, Anywhere, Always Zim.

UNSOLICITED PRAISE In his first official address as general manager of Carib Star Shipping Ltd, ‘Gaby’ Sharf spoke of ZIM’s unbroken service and commitment to the port of Kingston and by extension, Jamaica. Commercial manager from the Zim Miami office Torsten Tyralla spoke of services offered to and from Jamaica, such as the US east coast, Gulf Atlantic ports, Mexico, the Caribbean (with particular emphasis on the new GSE service), the Far East, and the Mediterranean.

Closing remarks by Sjaun Morrison, sales and marketing manager for Carib Star Shipping Ltd, earned the company unsolicited praise and appreciation from some very happy customers in what was a surprising, refreshing and encouraging end to the event.
